Students engage in rigorous hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) training.

The Pre-Apprenticeship Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy is designed for Alaskans aged 16 and above, offering a powerful gateway to explore potential career opportunities in healthcare.
This hands-on training equips participants with essential skills and five nationally recognized clinical certifications. Program participants build real-world experience and become strong candidates for entry-level healthcare employment.
The Alaska AHEC is currently transitioning PATH Academies to a hybrid training format, expanding access across the state. We are actively recruiting for our PATH Academy Pilot Cohort, launching in May 2026. Participants in the pilot will help shape the future of PATH programming while receiving direct support from Employment Specialists for job placement and career navigation.
This is an equal opportunity program. Auxiliary aides and services are readily available upon request to individuals with disabilities to ensure full participation in the PATH Academy.
