Austin Phipps uses Bluestuff pads and GD Sport Rotos on his V8-powered saloon

Arizona-based Austin Phipps of the Mulletsport race team is a professional drifter, currently using a modified 2012 Audi S4 with manual transmission and rear-wheel drive conversion in various drift series across the USA.

We previously caught up with Phipps and the team as they fought through a rollercoaster of a Hotpit Autofest event in the spring. As well as a new engine, Phipps has also upgraded ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Bluestuff brake pads and GD Sport Rotors for the 2026 season.

Below is how the rest of the year panned out for the team, with Phipps and his Audi achieving remarkable successes thanks to their now-solid setup.

Read how it panned out in Austin’s own words below…

Round 3: Smaller Brakes, Zero Issues

“For Round 3 on July 11, we made the only brake change in three years of running the S4: we swapped the larger vented front rotors for the same lighter, solid GD Sport Rotor we run in the rear, so all four corners now match. The goal was to take weight off the front end of the car.

“That’s not a small decision. Brakes mean a lot in drifting: cold bite on the first entry, wear across a full event and season, and heat through back-to-back battles all decide whether you can trust the car. Going smaller up front puts every one of those to the test.

“The GD Sport Rotors passed. Paired with the Bluestuff pads, they worked extremely well, and we had zero issues moving to the smaller setup. We got the weight savings without giving anything up in stopping power or confidence.

“On track, Round 3 was a solid event. We drew Formula DRIFT PRO driver Rome Charpentier in our Top 32 battle, and I overdrove the car. That one’s on me, and it’s exactly the kind of battle I want more of. Knowing I needed more seat time behind the car we have set up to compete. I ran a local event where we lost the motor a few laps in. A broken exhaust valve blew a hole in a piston and took out our complete motor. Damaging every cylinder.â€

Round 5: Las Vegas, and Brakes that Worked Too Well

“We had to skip Round 4. After all the valvetrain failures, the budget for a new motor wasn’t there in time, so we regrouped and put everything into being ready for the season finale in Las Vegas on October 17.

“The all-new 6.3L high-compression motor fought us on tune up before qualifying, which put us in a death match just to get into the Top 32. In that battle, I made contact with the back of the lead car in a section where I expected them to stay on throttle. That probably didn’t help with making over 800whp now.

“Vegas gave us a problem most drivers would love to have: the front brakes were working too well. With that much bite from the Bluestuff pads, the front tires were the limit, not the brakes. We had to add more front grip to the car to keep up with them.

“That’s a good place to end a development year. When you’re tuning the chassis to match your brakes, you know the brakes aren’t the weak link.â€

Same Pads, All Season

“That kind of peace of mind is something most drifters take for granted, and with our crazy season, we sure did. It wasn’t until we sat down to list what went well this year that we noticed ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ was first on the list. Zero issues, and we checked the pads at every event. We ran the same pads all year on all four corners. In the past, we needed new pads halfway through a season, especially in the rear.â€

Looking Ahead to 2027

“I’m working to come back to Hotpit in 2027, with a list of things to refine and polish this off-season. We know we have the program and the car, so we don’t plan to change much on it.

“What I need now is seat time and to get my mind right behind the wheel. Right now, building, maintenance, logistics, and driving all sit on my shoulders. Balancing those better is the biggest upgrade I can make for next year.

“One thing that isn’t changing is the brakes. We’ll run the same ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ setup in 2027: Bluestuff pads with GD Sport rotors at all four corners. We love the light weight, the feedback, and the feel. From a program standpoint, it’s a win too. One rotor fits both the front and the rear, which means a smaller spares bin to haul to every event.

“A huge thank-you to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ for standing behind Mulletsport again this year. We’ve been working together for several years, and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has given us a great foundation to build on. When the engine and transmission kept letting us down, the brakes never did. That’s exactly what you want from a partner.â€

Stuart Egdell is competing in the French national drifting championship

Pro drifter, Stuart Egdell, continues his partnership with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ as he once again carries out another season of the Drift France championship.

After several successful years of relying on ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads, Egdell’s formidable 2JZ-powered S14A Nissan Silvia was upgraded further for the 2025 season, with the addition of a six-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit that helped propel him to great results in last year’s season.

We caught up with Egdell off the back of his debutant 2026 round at Circuit du Val de Vienne, where despite some setbacks, it was a positive insight into the year ahead for the team.

Check out his race report below…

“Drift France Round 1 certainly set the season off with a bang!

“With the car doing double duty—Luke competing in Pro and myself in Elite – it made for a challenging weekend full of highs and lows. Luke received a wildcard entry to compete at the home track of LM Autosport 86 at Val d’Vienne just a few weeks before the event, which meant a huge push from the whole team to get everything dialled in for the season opener.”

“The event kicked off on Friday with media day. This included practice sessions and passenger runs for sponsors, the public, and championship officials. During testing, I was able to really push the car to its limits, although the day ended slightly early after breaking a lower arm on a rumble strip. The team worked hard that evening to repair and realign everything, getting the car ready for Saturday.

“Saturday consisted of practice and qualifying. During practice, Luke unfortunately bent the steering arm twice, but thanks to support from another driver, we were able to get back out in time for qualifying. With the Pro class running first in worsening weather conditions, Luke delivered a strong performance and secured 5th place.”

“I followed in the Elite qualifying session and managed a solid first run scoring 75 points, placing me 7th. On my second run, I pushed harder and went wider, but a slight wheel drop on clip 5 meant I matched my previous score—frustrating, as it likely cost a top 3 position.

“Sunday was race day. Luke drove a strong Top 16 battle to secure a place in the Top 8, but unfortunately had to withdraw due to a cracked rear diff plate causing an oil leak on track. Despite this, he finished an impressive 7th place in his first ever CFD event—great job!”

“After a rapid repair, the car was ready for my Top 32 battle. However, we quickly discovered a major loss of power. Post-run checks revealed a split inlet plenum, causing a significant loss of boost across the rev range. Up against a 1000hp competitor on one of the fastest tracks of the season, it was always going to be tough. I gave it everything, but multiple corrections in the chase run ultimately cost the battle.

“Overall, Round 1 was an incredible start to the season and a true team effort under pressure. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting CFD seasons yet.

“As always, thank you for your continued support—we look forward to seeing you all at the next event. Round 2 is just two weeks away, featuring an all-night battle at Vesoul.”

We previously caught up with Phipps and the team as they undertook a successful FuelFest event at the back end of 2025 – upgrading to a new engine and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Bluestuff brake pads in preparation. Alongside the capable pads, Phipps continues to opt for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s GD Sport Rotors, too.

We’ve since caught up with the Mulletsport outfit off the back of their attendance at Round 1 of the Southern Californian HOTPIT Autofest show – a weekend that threw up many challenges and proved to be a big learning curve for the team.

Read how it panned out in Austin’s own words below…

“We thought we caught a lucky break when Flavor Express announced an open drift night at the same venue as Round 1. We left a day early to get some much-needed shakedown laps on the new Icon Pistons motor. Good thing we did…

“After the first lap, we started chasing a crank sensor issue, and the entire night only produced three good laps before we snapped an axle on the gnarly transition off the bank.

“Friday was setup day. We replaced the axle, passed tech, and finished our series photos. Before calling it good, we decided to pull the valve covers and inspect the new aluminum rocker arms. Again, glad we did: four of them had stripped out, sending the rollers somewhere into the motor.

“Thankfully, Brad from German Elite Tuning hadn’t left Arizona for the weekend yet. Even better, we still had our old stainless steel rockers in the engine room. The problem now was finding the missing parts.

“So, we went fishing with a magnet. Starting in the heads and eventually working our way down to the oil pan, we managed to find three solid rollers and the shrapnel from the fourth. We slapped every magnet we could find onto the oil pan and crossed our fingers.

“Brad left at 2AM Saturday morning to make it to Orange Speedway by 7AM. I was in my suit for the driver’s meeting at 8AM while Rich, Andy, Jettlee, and Brad immediately got to work. They replaced the rocker arms, adjusted everything, and filled the motor with fresh Liqui Moly oil.

“We lost about 30 minutes of the first practice hour and only managed one run in Session 1.”

“The first run was conservative. The second… not so much. An overly aggressive entry led to a rough introduction with the wall on the bank.

“Luckily, we had an hour break before the next two-hour practice session. The team tore apart the damaged rear end and zip-tied the car back together just to get me back out there.

“After watching the other drivers run, I made some changes: lower tire pressure, dumped the shocks, and cranked up the boost. Next lap, I felt comfortable in the car. Practice turned into a learning session—timing, references, and figuring out the line. I struggled to put together a clean lap, but I still felt confident going into qualifying with a conservative approach.

“Fresh tires warmed up. Time to go. Starting in second gear proved to be the fastest run-up to the bank during practice. I launched the car, rolled into full throttle, shifted into third—POP. Already committed to the entry, I grabbed a quick handbrake to angle the car into OZ1. That sucked the car straight into the wall. Hit one.

“With zero boost, I stood on the throttle expecting the car to drive away from the wall. Instead, it floated hard back into it—breaking a wheel and rear knuckle. What I didn’t realize at the time—and live on YouTube—I attempted to salvage the run.

“Embarrassed and frustrated, I parked the car in the pits, assuming our weekend was over. That thought apparently never crossed my team’s minds. They ripped off the damaged ECS Tuning wheel and disassembled the right rear suspension down to the subframe. Turns out a bushing took the brunt of the impact and simply ejected itself. Amazingly, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ brakes were one of the only things completely undamaged.

“With some Liqui Moly high-strength thread locker, a lot of hammering, clamps, and zip ties… We had a car again.

“Qualifying wrapped up with several cars not making the show. Unfortunately, we ended up 31st qualifier in a 31-car field.

“My mindset completely reset during the autograph session. The fans were beyond excited to meet the drivers of these crazy cars. They didn’t care about the qualifying order—they were just pumped to be there.”

“I carried that energy straight into Top 32. Facing the #3 qualifier, I knew it was time to step up. Fresh tires, my normal warm-up routine, and I pulled to the line.

“Immediately, something felt off. The tires unloaded and I watched the lead driver pull away. Calm and collected, I stayed behind him, knowing I could close the gap on the bank.

“I eased into the entry, set the car, and rolled into the throttle to catch up. Then the car snapped around like I’d hit a banana in Mario Kart. The weight of the entire weekend hitting me all at once, I failed.

“My wife and spotter Hailz came over the radio: “Just focus on this lap. You got this. Just drive. That’s when it clicked. The temperature had dropped massively and the tires simply weren’t warm enough. At this level of competition, everything matters. With a turbo V8 powerplant, fixing that was easy. I stood on the throttle and did a rolling burnout back to the line.

“Pulling to the line in the lead run, everything went quiet. Just another lap. A light flick into OZ1, let the car settle, then hammer down. This time, the car hooked up perfectly and I was along for the ride. Flat-footed, the car followed every input and I laid down our best run of the weekend.

“When I pulled off track, it hit me: this was Round 1 of many to come. I gave everyone on the team a big hug and thanked them individually and as a group. We learned a ton!

“I may have years of drifting experience and a few seasons in FD, but this was the first professional-level competition event for everyone on my team. They won the weekend.

“I’m incredibly excited for Round 2. No major changes planned—just repairs, prep, and getting ready for the next competition. We have slush coming up next weekend and a few local events to get my driving polished up and ready for a strong showing at round 2.

We show you the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ components that perfectly match your lifestyle

Welcome to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s ‘Suit Your Style’ blog series, where we match you up with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ upgrades that complement particular driving requirements, ensuring you get the ideal components for your vehicle.

In today’s blog, we’re showcasing our range of tough and rugged brake pads built with heavy loads and towing in mind.

With heavier, more capable vehicles, it’s crucial to ensure your stopping power is up to standards, and luckily, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has a range of pad upgrades that revolve around this ever-growing market.

Below are our top picks for towing/4x4s/trucks and the demanding lifestyles that come with them…

Extra Duty ED+

Brake pads for light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs. These pads are super grippy, high-friction, and designed for the extra braking demands of towing, heavy loads, or trucks with lifted suspension and oversized tyres and wheels, where a standard ‘stock’ brake system can’t cope.

ED+ pads offer medium-plus lifetime, but what these drivers really want is fabulous brakes with stopping power that keeps them safe, and they’re not concerned about changing pads every 7–12,000 miles.

Greenstuff Elite

DP6000 Elite-series green pads from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ are superb premium pads for SUVs and light trucks. They not only replace but also upgrade your stock pads, providing a more grippy, silent, smooth, and long-lasting brake setup. Carrying the prestigious Leaf Mark with the highest N rating, recognised for its superior environmental safety.

Yellowstuff

The first in a new range of ‘hybrid’ materials that can be safely and legally used on the world’s roads (being R90 approved), Yellowstuff is a high-friction, high-capability upgrade pad for various road and occassional track applications.

With its impressively broad skill set, Yellowstuff has been the flagship pad by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ for over a decade and gives instant brake response, great feel and modulations with silky-smooth noise-free braking and was also improved in 2021 to be copper free and conform to all new legislations for the environment.

Expect strong, stable friction once bedded-in and very minimal rotor damage, whether used on road or track.

Bluestuff

A great all-round sport and race pad – just as comfortable on track as it is performing daily driving duties.

Bluestuff material exhibits a 0.52μ stable friction once bedded, stable up to a slightly higher 550℃/1000℃ than its sister compound Yellowstuff but with the benefit of a 30% longer lifespan.

New formula is copper free to conform to upcoming environmental legislations.

We show you the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ components that perfectly match your lifestyle

Welcome to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s ‘Suit Your Style’ blog series, where we match you up with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ upgrades that complement particular driving requirements, ensuring you get the ideal components for your vehicle.

In today’s blog, we look at brake components that are most suited to vehicles whose main purpose is to enjoy on a back-road at the weekend. While these machines retain their road worthiness, they’re much more focused on performance than the day-to-day drivability of your commuter car.

Predominantly a high-performance braking company, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ unsurprisingly has a wealth of different options when it comes to driver-focused braking upgrades – many of which remain road legal and fully useable in daily driving conditions.

Below are some ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ components that are suitable for weekend warrior vehicles.

Brake Pads

Yellowstuff

The first in a new range of ‘hybrid’ materials that can be safely and legally used on the world’s roads (being R90 approved), Yellowstuff is a high-friction upgrade pad for all fast-street use and can also be used on the track with proper bedding-in.

Bluestuff has been a track day favourite for years and is the spec pad for the BMW 318i Cup series throughout Europe. New formula is copper free to conform to upcoming environmental legislations.

Brake Rotors

GD Discs

The latest in sport rotors, GD Discs feature wide aperture slots that draw cool air into the braking contact area and reduce temperatures, preventing brake fade.

Now featuring reduced three-slot venting which provides slightly less air noise under heavy braking whilst still maintaining the benefits of cooler running with the full-width slot design.

The design of these discs means that some wind noise is observed and if drivers feel they would find this offensive they are advised to select the quieter USR-series or the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ plain (D) disc.

Another great feature of slotted discs is the way they maintain flat and parallel pad wear and avoid the record grooves or galling common with non-slotted discs. This improves pad contact and braking throughout the life of the disc and pad set.

USR Discs

Super-quiet sport-slotted brake discs, featuring the new ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ narrow-profile slot pattern which helps cool and de-gas brakes under load and speed, but eliminates air noise common with some slotted discs.

Another great feature of slotted discs is the way they maintain flat and parallel pad wear and avoid the record grooves or galling common with non-slotted discs. This improves pad contact and braking throughout the life of the disc and pad set.

Another major benefit of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ fine slotted discs is their ability to totally resist cracking common with ‘through-drilled’ discs.

BSD Discs

The new ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ BSD-series brake discs vent the brake area better, drawing heat away from the central brake pad area and with more slot under the pad contact area.

These discs are totally silent in operation and de-gas your brakes when used at speed or under heavier loads minimising heat fade.

Now with lower pricing and the silver grey anti corrosion coating with show-thru silver slots, these discs are surely the best through-wheel looks and most functional sport discs on sale.

The fine slot pattern prevents the ribs that typically generate after 5,000-10,000 miles of use on non-slotted discs and maintain flat and parallel pad wear and due to the fine slot design can even extend pad wear life.

Forum-informed insight into noise, brake dust and real-world performance on the G80 and wider G8X platform

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is proud to offer a wide range of pad compounds designed to suit different driving styles, from everyday road use to track racing.

On cars like the BMW G80 M3, the issue many owners have isn’t with stopping power, but finding a brake pad that delivers confidence on fast roads, while remaining quiet and clean.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Redstuff is a copper free ceramic brake pad that is designed for this type of application as it offers braking performance that is higher than OEM, but focuses on reduced brake dust and low noise – which are the two most common issues that we see BMW owners raise. In a previous article, we looked in detail at what causes brake dust and how best to avoid it.

The feedback that has been gathered and referenced throughout this article has been collected from discussions across multiple BMW & G80-specfic forums, reflecting on real-world owner experiences.

Redstuffâ„¢ Compared to OEM and Premium Aftermarket Pads

Across BMW G80 and wider G8X forum discussions, many owners often discuss the different brake pad options for their vehicle, with many people frequently pointing towards a more balanced and cost-effective choice.

Drivers that have ran Redstuffâ„¢ pads alongside other higher-priced alternative pad options often say that Redstuffâ„¢ is:

  • Comparable in braking feel and performance
  • Very low brake dust, keeping wheels noticeably cleaner
  • Quiet operation, with minimal squeal even during low-speed or light braking

Several owners also highlight the fact that Redstuffâ„¢ can deliver this while being at a significantly lower cost than some other premium aftermarket pads, without sacrificing usability.

Noise: Redstuffâ„¢ vs OEM

Across BMW owner forums, any drivers that have used ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Redstuffâ„¢, even across multiple different vehicles, often highlight how the pad is consistently quiet, even over long-term use.

In comparison, factory BMW pads are frequently described as more prone to squeal during light or gentle braking. This is a characteristic that is commonly associated with high-performance OEM compounds, rather than a fault with the braking system itself.

¸é±ð»å²õ³Ù³Ü´Ú´Ú’sâ„¢ formulation focuses on reducing noise and improving everyday refinement, making it particularly well suited to road-driven G8X models where comfort and usability matter as much as outright stopping power.

Yellowstuffâ„¢ & Bluestuffâ„¢: Higher-Performance Options for the BMW G8X platform

For BMW G80 and G8X owners looking beyond day-today road use, forum discussions around ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Yellowstuffâ„¢ and Bluestuffâ„¢ often focus on the balance between increased performance and lower dust/noise levels.

Feedback regarding Yellowstuff™ from owners with thousands of miles of road use consistently points to a noticeable reduction in dust compared to OEM pads. While Yellowstuff™ is not described as “dust-free brake pad, users commonly estimate around a 40–50% reduction compared to OEM brake pads, resulting in:

  • Less visible dust buildup on wheels
  • Reduced risk of dust baking onto rims
  • Easier cleaning, often achievable with a simple rinse rather than heavy scrubbing

For drivers that are looking for another step up from Yellowstuffâ„¢, then Bluestuffâ„¢ is regularly highlighted on forums as a clear upgrade over OEM pads, not only in braking capability but also in dust/noise. Feedback commonly references:

  • Lower dust levels than factory pads
  • Reduced noise compared to OEM
  • Improved braking performance and consistency

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Yellowstuff™ Brake Pads

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Bluestuffâ„¢ Brake Pads

The general consensus from drivers who have tried these products is that while Yellowstuffâ„¢ and Bluestuffâ„¢ sit much higher up the performance scale than Redstuffâ„¢, they still deliver meaningful improvements in dust and noise over stock pads, making them viable options for drivers who want increased capability without accepting the usual compromises associated with more aggressive brake pads.

Which Brake Pad Is Best for the BMW G8X platform?

When BMW G8X owners ask for advice on forums, the recommendations tend to fall into different categories depending on how drivers use their vehicle, rather than a one size fits all answer.

For drivers prioritising low dust, low noise, and everyday usability, Redstuffâ„¢ is frequently highlighted as a brake pad with slightly higher braking performance than OEM, while offering improved refinement and cleaner wheels.

For those drivers that want stronger braking performance and who are slightly less concerned about brake dust, forum discussions commonly point toward Yellowstuffâ„¢ or Bluestuffâ„¢ as the better option, especially for spirited street driving or occasional track use.

This owner-led feedback reflects the wider belief across G80 and G8X communities, which is that choosing the right brake pad is less about high performance, and more about matching the compound to how the car is actually driven.

Ahead of the mighty FuelFest 2025 event, Phipps decided to finally get to the bottom of the engine issues that had been haunting him throughout the year by replacing the entire powerplant with a boosted LS V8 motor.

With more power than ever on tap, he also upgraded his ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Yellowstuff brake pads to Bluestuff components, retaining his GD Sport Rotors in the process. This setup aims to maximise his current brake system, before he takes the plunge to a big brake kit.

You can read how the event went in his own words below…

“What an event; a huge crowd and tonnes of laps. The car worked amazingly well! I have no complaints. I am so confident going into comp season. Set up out of the box is so close to perfect. I am blown away.

“2025 hasn’t been the season we planned. Going through four motors starting this year, I made the decision to go back to the proven American LS V8 powerplant. This time I went the direction with the most bang for your buck: a turbocharged, aluminium 5.3-litre Gen 4 LS. I went with the aluminium motor to save 100lbs of weight on the front of the car over the iron block. Keeping weight in mind, I mounted the turbo in the trunk area of the car. With no intercooler and currently on 6psi of boost during testing, I was wildly impressed on the response and temperatures of the new powerplant.”

“Everything was on-track to have a fully prepared event. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ sent us out a care package of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ swag. The trailer was packed up. Just one last nut and bolt check and fluids change before race day. Thursday night, we found excessive metal in the oil filter, causing the team at Haus of Euro to dive into the engine 48 hours before Fuel Fest Phoenix 2025. We found the new triple-disc clutch was being overextended by the slave, resulting on premature wear to the thrust bearing in the engine. We sourced parts for delivery on Friday morning. The team reassembled the engine and was buttoned up on Friday afternoon.

“We loaded up Friday night and headed straight to the track Saturday morning. Unloaded the car and set up our hot pit for ride-alongs. The plan was a few light laps. After the year I have had, my ambitions of driving got the better of me. Full send lap 1. Car was dialled in and planted. Logs on the motor looked spot on. So, we started taking passengers in lap 2! The track layout was a fast entry, into a tight transition, flowing into a straight with a Manji right before a long wall ride in front of the crowd. With the new turbocharged V8, lighting up the tyres is no longer a problem. Slowing the car down is now more needed than ever!”

“Still on stock A4-sized brakes all around to keep the weight as low as possible on the S4, along with a non-booster braking system, the pad and rotor combination is hyper-critical on placing the car on the right line. Transitioning on the throttle, headed right at a concrete wall in front of 5000+ people, I had all the confidence to stand on the throttle and rest my left foot on the brake pedal. Slowing down the front of the car precisely to ride the wall and keep the rear tyres smokin’.

“I love my Bluestuff pads! Complete confidence in the bite of the brakes throughout the run.

“Sadly, we had an oil cooler failure late in the night, causing us to retire the car. We repaired the car and loaded it back in the trailer. Bright and early, we were back on the road headed to FCP Euro in Mesa, AZ, for their morning motoring meet. Featured in the Liqui Moly booth, we received a wild response to the car from the euro community, a lot of head scratching followed by the biggest of surprises when following the charge piping through the car into the trunk, revealing the massive turbo. What a weekend!

Martyn Henry uses ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ pads on his big-power Astra VXR build

Martyn Henry is competing in the Pro class of Time Attack UK, in his heavily modified Vauxhall Astra VXR.

To help him claim the quickest times, Henry entrusts ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads for the front axle and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™ Yellowstuff pads for the rear axle of his fierce hot hatch.

Following a podium finish at Snetterton, Henry next found himself at the gruelling Knockhill Circuit in Scotland, where mixed weather and a few other issues made for a testing weekend, with good results achieved despite this.

Read his report below…

“Saturday was round 7 of Time Attack UK at Knockhill Circuit. Getting here was a real struggle after oil pump failure destroyed the crank and rods, but I knuckled down and made it happen with the help from others.

“The car went awesome; from the warm-up session trying to do some steady laps to run the engine in, pushed at the end to find I already broke my personal best time.

“Attack 1: I did a few steady laps, then turned it up a bit and pushed on, and got a personal best of 54.4, sitting 5th in class.

“Attack 2: turned it right up and pushed hard, trying to drop into the 53-sec laps, but tried too hard and broke a driveshaft, but managed a 54.5 before that, still sitting 5th.”

“Super Attack: with the driveshaft sorted but rain pending, I knew I had to push hard as soon as I could. Tyres were shot and the rain came down, a 54.7 was the best I could do before the rain came – 4th in the championship but 5th on the day with a single round entry in the mix.

“I was so happy with how the day went with what I had to do to get there. Just a broken driveshaft was the only problem of the day to contend with.

“2nd fastest front wheel drive of the day, and fastest manual gearbox car overall!

Stuart Egdell has been competing in the French national drifting championship

Pro drifter, Stuart Egdell, continues his partnership with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ as he once again carries out another season of the Drift France championship.

After several successful years of relying on ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads, Egdell’s formidable 2JZ-powered S14A Nissan Silvia has been upgraded further this year, with the addition of a six-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit to help propel him to the next level when it comes to braking performance.

Following more success at the previous round in Calmont, we caught up with Egdell as he undertook the final round of 2026 at the all-new Circuit de Charade in Auvergne.

Check out his race report and reflections on the season in his own words below…

“Well… I’ve finally settled back into reality, wiped the tears away, and said goodbye to another amazing season of Drift France.

“The final took us to a brand-new circuit — and what an experience it was! The track was absolutely breathtaking: a sweeping layout with banked corners, fast inclines, and steep declines. It was quick, intense, and honestly terrifying for the first few laps!

“We kicked off the weekend strong — first lap as a feeler, then two solid push laps. Unfortunately, just as I was going out for a fourth lap, the battery voltage dropped to zero and the car lost all power. Limped it back to the pits and found the alternator had failed.

“What followed was a mad scramble: found a loaner (huge thanks to the community!), took a 2-hour drive to a nearby workshop, and just barely made it back in time for one last lap of final practice.

“Made some last-minute changes to prep for Sunday — we knew the weather was going to be bad — and tried to get some rest.”

“Woke up to the heaviest rain I’ve ever seen in France. The pits looked more like a lake. Gazebos were down all around us, but thankfully ours survived — albeit soaking wet.

“Warmed the car up and headed out for a very limited, wetter-than-wet practice session. The loan alternator held up (despite everything running: wipers, fans, lights, heaters — the lot), and we got some valuable laps in.

“Straight into Top 32 battles — my opponent: FIA Swiss driver Jahan. First time driving with him, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d seen his battles — big angles, a flashy style similar to mine — but this was our first head-to-head.

“I led the first run and felt strong through the first five clips, but pushed a bit too deep on the final hairpin and lost traction on the rumble strips — giving Jahan the upper hand.

“Chasing, I threw down everything I had — close proximity and solid mirroring despite the awful conditions — but that’s where my 2025 season ended.”

“What. A. Season! From mechanical failures to torrential rain to unforgettable battles, it’s been emotional. It’s been epic.

“I’m proud to say I finished Top 20 overall: something our small team can truly stand tall about. I’ve made lifelong friends, locked in my spot for 2026, and opened the door to potential new opportunities in France and across Europe.

“Massive thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this journey — whether in the pits, on the track, or supporting from afar. You made this season unforgettable.

“Here’s to 2026. Let’s see what’s next…

The Clubracer outfit uses a raft of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing components on its Golf

For many years, the Clubracer outfit – made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover – piloted their Ford Fiesta in Class D of the Trackday Championship, securing multiple podium finishes and season wins along the way. Throughout this time, the duo relied on ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s motorsport brake pads to help them achieve such impressive results.

For the 2025 season, the team has moved up from Class D to Class B with their new race car – a turbocharged Mk5 VW Golf GTI. This more potent machine demands even more impressive stopping power, so the boys have opted for hard-anodised four-piston ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing Apollo brake calipers, two-piece fully floating discs and RP-Xâ„¢/SR-21â„¢ sintered race pads up front, as well as Yellowstuff pads and Ultimax grooved discs at the rear.

Following an incredible outright win at Donington Park, we next caught up with the team following their Oulton Park and Cadwell Park rounds in the second half of the year, where more consistent, solid driving ensured the trophies continued to come in.

Read all about it in their own words below…

Oulton Park International – Round 4

“Weather looked warm for the weekend – a nice change from the monsoon conditions of Donington where we scored the car’s maiden victory! We readied the car for qualifying. With very little changed from the last round apart from basic setup changes to adapt to the dry conditions, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ RP-Xâ„¢ front pads combined with the Apollo 6 pot brake kit barely showing any signs of wear from the last round up front. The Ultimax 2 pads in the rear also showing signs of fantastic durability after 2 rounds in the rear. Again, we didn’t test prior to round so we had to make sure everything was on point prior so we could hit the ground running in Qualifying.

“The car instantly felt good, with a nice balance. This was the first proper use of the 6 pots in the dry. With some big braking zones at Oulton, it was clear good stopping capability would be essential as well as consistent feel for optimum performance. Managing to put the car right in the mix at the front was going to be critical to ensure we could capitalise. With 3rd place secured we did exactly that.”

“A quick bleed of the brakes to ensure fresh fluid was in the system, Henry lined up for the race start. With an aim of consolidating a podium finish, he set about the race start. Managing to defend some early attacks round the first corner he settled into the rhythm of the first lap. A committed move from fellow ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½-backed stablemate, Nicole Drought, into cascades saw us momentarily drop down to 4th place. The first 4 cars pulling away from the pack it was clear this was going to be a race of 2 halves! With a safety car intervention, the cars streamed into the pits bumper to bumper. A mis-judged stop by the Civic of Nicole would leave them unfortunately out of contention from that point onwards. Leaving the top 3 cars battling for the top step after Kev had taken over from the pit stop. With an impressive move on the Mk6 Golf of Jack and George Wright into Lodge Corner on the brakes early in his stint Kev set about chasing the super consistent Matt Swaffer in his 130i BMW. His pace was to be rewarded with the victory having defended a late charge from Kev finishing a mere 2 seconds behind. 2nd place! A great result. Making it 3 podiums finishes in row from the newly acquired Golf.

“The back-to-back podiums feeling very rewarding after all the hard work and early development with the car. – There’s still so much more to come too! Safe to say we’re very much in the right ballpark in the braking department though. The ability to drive hard all race long with such consistent pedal feel, and wear characteristics that are extremely impressive given their use and weight of the car. Next round Cadwell Park!

Cadwell Park – Round 5

“Cadwell Park: not a firm favourite of Henry’s. However, Kev seems to enjoy it! You can guess who will be starting the race here for us… Despite not having a bad record here and generally going well, it’s not been a place I’ve ever really gelled with. This all changed a little bit when we rolled the car out for qualifying. Again, with no testing prior, we bolted a set of new tyres (the first new set since we started testing in April) and set about trying to get ourselves in contention with the host of front running cars that had tested the previous day. The car felt absolutely superb, With Henry and Kev both managing to lap within 2 tenths, albeit making time in totally different ways and sections of the track having looked at the data! The session finished with us 4th overall. Knowing that there was plenty left on the plate performance wise. The car’s brake balance with multitude of different corners and elevations was confidence inspiring to say the least.

“Kev started the race with it being one of his preferred tracks, and immediately got off to a good start making short work of 3rd place round the outside into turn 1. Immediately setting his sights on the BMW of Matt Swaffers who appeared to be struggling to get up to speed straight away. A challenge that lasted another 4 corners before Kev committed an excellent move down the inside into the downhill left hander at Mansfield, finishing the move into the entry of the mountain section. Up to second place on lap 1.”

“This set the tone for the whole first half of the race. With Kev and the Mk6 Golf of Jack and George Wright pulling clear of the rest of the pack. With the pit stops completed, Henry jumped in hoping to consolidate to great work Kev had started. After a couple of laps of adjustment to how the car was handling, and the gap to 1st stable, Henry set about narrowing the gap to the Golf. Keeping an eye on the hard charging Civic of Nicole behind. With 1 lap to go, Henry was right on the bumper of the Golf having stabilised the gap to 3rd. A back marker decided to place himself right in the wrong place into turn one defusing any chance of lining up a pass at the end of the Park Straight frustratingly! With the narrowness and twistiness of the Cadwell Park Circuit, another passing opportunity wasn’t to present itself. Crossing the line a mere 0.2 seconds off the winning Golf.

“Another fantastic result in the bank. With the championship starting to take place, this leaves us leading Class B and 2nd overall. With 2 rounds to go, it’s going to be important to maintain the momentum! It’s all to play for! Next round Croft Circuit!
