The overall top three drivers in the category all sport ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing components on their cars

It’s safe to say that 2026 has been a good year for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing-equipped competitors in the US Gridlife championship.

With Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt and Kal Fortner securing gold and silver respectively in the Street Mod class, we also saw a top-three lockout in the Falken Club TR category for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½-equipped drivers Peter Granberg, Jerami Bailey and Evan McLaren.

First in class was Peter Granberg in his Subaru BR-Z, complete with an ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing Apollo big brake kit and SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance race pads.

Clinching class-second was Jerami Bailey, also in a Subaru BR-Z equipped with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s Apollo big brake kit and SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance race pads.

Finishing off the 2026 class podium was Evan McLaren in his DC2 Honda Integra, sporting ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s SR-21â„¢ brake pads.

Jerami Bailey uses an Apollo big brake kit and SR-21â„¢ endurance pads on his Subaru BRZ

Following the news that SR-21â„¢-equipped Gridlife racers, Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt and Kal Fortner secured gold and silver respectively in the Street Mod class of 2026’s Gridlife championship, comes the news that another ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing-adorned car has secured second in the Falken Club TR class for the year.

Jerami Bailey uses an Apollo big brake kit and SR-21™ endurance pads on his fiery Subaru BRZ, with the championship results coming down to the wire during the final round at California’s Laguna Seca against fellow BRZ driver, Peter Granberg.

This concludes a fantastic year of racing for Bailey, who has relied on the consistency of his ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing setup to secure podium-winning performances throughout the year.

Kal Fortner is using ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe

Following the fourth consecutive podium at Watkins Glen, we next caught up with Fortner off the back of his latest round at the technical Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, where he secured his fifth podium in a row, as well as securing second place in the overall 2026 standings.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“From one demanding track to another; next up after Watkins Glen was Lime Rock Park! This track couldn’t be more opposite from Watkins Glen but I was ready for the challenge! Historically this has always been one of the weaker tracks for the Mercedes with it being a track that more so favours light, lower-powered cars, both of which the Mercedes is not! However I was not going to let that stop me from extracting everything out of the car!”

“Unlike most rounds this year running the podium sprint format, this weekend was back to the traditional time attack format, meaning that the best time out of every session wins. I knew I had to find every ounce of pace in the car in order for a good result, and I was able to do just that! Throughout the weekend, I had the confidence to lean into my SR-21â„¢s, whether it’s with ultimate braking force heading into a corner, to having the confidence to modulate and trail brake in order to consistently carry momentum throughout every lower speed corner on the track.”

“Lime Rock Park is one of those tracks that requires an incredible amount of commitment and precision, and I had that all weekend! I was able to go a tenth faster than my previous personal best, setting a 56.166, and with that I was able to secure P2 which makes it 5 podiums in a row. With that, I’m also locked into P2 in the championship! I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished this year, and I couldn’t be more proud to carry the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ name at the pointy end of the field race after race. Although I’m thrilled with P2 in the championship, I’m already starting every bit of preparation I can to make that P1 next year!â€

Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt competes in Gridlife’s StreetMod class in his Subaru Impreza

Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt has been competing in Gridlife’s StreetMod category with his modified Subaru Impreza WRX for some time now.

Utilising ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads, DeWitt has enjoyed multiple front-row lockouts in the first half of the 2026 season, alongside fellow SR-21â„¢ racer, Kal Fortner.

We next caught up with DeWitt following his successful third and fourth rounds of the season, at Gingerman Raceway and Watkins Glen respectively – two more incredibly lucrative weekends that have already secured him 2026 class victory with a few rounds still to go.

Read DeWitt’s summary below in his own words…

“Round 3 took us to Gingerman Raceway in Michigan for Midwest Festival where we had a date with destiny. We were tied for the consecutive win record with seven straight, all with records.

“IF we won this event, we would not only break that record, but we were also gunning to be the first StreetMod car to run a sub-1:30 lap time. We pulled off the win and record but missed the sub-1:30 by a hair, running a 1:30.226.

“The car was great, the brakes were phenomenal, but we missed out by a couple of tenths due to less-than-ideal conditions, minor technical issues with the car, and honestly, my inability to put it all together. This put us firmly in the lead of the championship, though! One more win and record and the Championship is locked up!

“Round 4 was a new track for us: Watkins Glen in NY. Very fast, very high risk, and very demanding. We arrived highly confident and aiming to seal the Championship, but we quickly realised it would be a difficult weekend.

“We had an axle issue during the test day and didn’t get much seat time. On the first day of competition, during the first hot lap, the transmission failed in the second-to-last corner. After a team meeting, we decided to remove our current gearbox with our sequential gearset in it, drive back to the shop and grab our old H-pattern transmission and convert back to a standard manual setup.”

“After a late night on Friday, we were back at it Saturday morning and even with the old trans we jumped back into the lead but only by about .1 quicker than our ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ teammate Kal Fortner in his Mercedes AMG GTS. We thought we might widen that gap on Sunday morning but some more technical issues, this time with some engine related things, meant it came down to podium sprint. The conditions weren’t fantastic, but with the old Subaru AWD and easily modulated ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ SR-21â„¢s we had the confidence to push to a new Street Mod Record at 1:58.357! This win and record secured the points needed to lock up the Championship, our 3rd in four years AND extended our consecutive win record to nine!  All of them won on SR-21â„¢s!

“We aren’t done with the season QUITE yet. We plan to still attend Gridlife Circuit Legends next week at Lime Rock then in October we were invited to the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine Ultimate Track Car Championship in Texas! We are hoping to be the fastest car there on a 200TW tyre!â€

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina and more podiums in Atlanta, we next caught up with Fortner off the back of his latest round at the iconic Watkins Glen in New York State.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“After waiting thre years for Gridlife’s return to Watkins Glen, I was itching to get back out on this legendary track! Back in 2023, not only did I secure the Streetmod record, I was fastest overall as well, so I knew that this was going to be a strong weekend for us. Although this weekend got off to a rocky start after needing to do a spark plug change after session 1 and missing the second session of the day, I quickly found pace by the third session and went right into P1 to end day one! Right away I was able to lean into my SR-21â„¢ pads as well as a brand new set of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s floating two-piece rotors on the Mercedes and I was able to carry 170mph going into the bus stop!”

“By day two, I was able to set a new Streetmod RWD record with a 1:58.8! This put us in 2nd by only a tenth, as well as only a tenth from the overall Streetmod record! Some tracks just click with not only the car but the driver as well, and for me, this is one of those tracks. Every lap just felt like a flow state, where I had the confidence to really extract everything out of the car and the confidence to use the entire track all the way up to the walls. I knew we had a fighting chance at victory here.”

“Going into day 3, I was met with track conditions that were not quite what I was expecting, after rain the night before, the track didn’t have nearly as much peak grip as the day before. Because of this I wasn’t able to reset my record, however I was able to secure yet another podium finish coming in P2 right behind Eric Dewitt – another ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ driver! That’s four podiums in a row this year and yet another ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ front-row lockout! This puts us in a healthy championship position of P2 going into the next round at Lime Rock Park and I’m looking forward to continuing this momentum…â€

Kal Fortner is using ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following podiums in Carolina and Atlanta, alongside another SR-21™-equipped driver, Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt, Fortner next visited Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway for Gridlife Midwest, with more top results secured across the weekend.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Coming off of another strong showing at Gridlife Atlanta with a double podium in Streetmod for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, I was feeling all the momentum and all the confidence heading into my 10th Gridlife Midwest, the event that started it all for me! The energy at Gridlife Midwest is just unmatched in every way, from the massive crowds to the festival vibes throughout the weekend, it’s always been my favourite event making a podium here just that much more meaningful. This is Gridlife’s Indy 500.”

“This weekend proved to me more of a challenge that I could have ever expected though. Right at the first corner of the very first session, my ABS failed, making each braking zone incredibly challenging. While racing a car designed without ABS is relatively straightforward, racing one without it that’s designed to have it is nothing short of dangerous.”

“Because of this, I was far off of the pace I needed to be fighting at the front, and potentially too far off to even put it in the top-5 for the podium sprint. I knew that if I wanted a podium, I needed to give it my absolute everything to at the very least make it into the sprint in order to give us the chance to fix our ABS issues, and I was able to do just that! Modulating my SR-21™ pads and focusing on perfecting each and every braking zone, I got us into the sprint by just over a second! This gave us a full day to chase whatever electrical issue was causing our problems. Thankfully, Gridlife is a paddock full of the most helpful people, and after getting help from a couple mechanics on a Rush SR team, we found the blown fuse, and the ABS was back to working as it should!

“Come Sunday, I knew what I had to do, and now that I could actually lean into the full potential of my ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ brakes, I knew I could give it my everything to go for my third podium in a row for the season! Although I missed out on second place due to fuel cuts from the car getting little too hot waiting in the pits from an incident on track, I was able to secure third, and with Eric Dewitt in first, this was yet another double podium for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½! After such a challenging event, to be able to come home with a podium is something I’ll forever be grateful for. Next up we’ve got Watkins Glen, one of my favourite tracks and a place that the Mercedes really shines at! The last time we were there, not only did I set the Streetmod record, I was also able to get the overall record! I’m so hyped to see what we can do this time!â€

Autoworks Motorsport is competing in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Frenos (Spain)-supported Autoworks Motorsport race team has achieved much success in recent years, piloting ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½-equipped race cars in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series.

Since the second half of 2025, the outfit has been elevated to the GT4 Bronze class thanks to the acquisition of a G82 BMW M4 GT4 – complete in the long-standing ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing livery.

This car has been sporting ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance race pads, giving the team the edge when it comes to stopping power.

We most recently caught up with Autoworks Motorsport off the back of their debutant race for 2026 at the famous Portimão Circuit, where great promise was shown across the weekend despite many setbacks.

Read how it all panned out in their own words below…

“Autoworks Motorsport closes the first round of the Iberian Supercars at the Algarve International Circuit with a bittersweet taste. The weekend demonstrated the excellent technical level of the Madrid structure and the incredibly fast race pace of its driver duo, but the final results were overshadowed by the harshness on track.

“The weekend began with very positive feelings in the qualifying sessions, where the tremendous equality and great form of the drivers from the Madrid structure were evident.”

“Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos drove to the limit, stopping the clock with a minimal difference of just one tenth of a second in favour of Héctor. This consistency in times demonstrated the rapid adaptation of both to the latest evolution of the BMW M4 GT4 (G82) and gave the team excellent starting positions for the official races. In the first race of the weekend, the team started from fourth position in the GT4 Bronze category, while in the second race they managed to secure a stellar second position.

“However, luck did not accompany them in both races when they were running in podium positions. In the first race, a heavy hit delivered by the same rival relegated the team to fifth final position, a result that did not do justice to the real pace on track. The story repeated itself almost identically in the second leg. A new impact by the same opponent left the vehicle severely damaged, forcing a retirement and depriving the car of crossing the finish line.”

“Despite the double material blow, the balance of the structure is positive professionally. The pure performance of the car, the race pace, and the flawless work of the young technical specialists and technological partners (ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ racing and ELF Lubricants) proved that the project has plenty of speed to fight for the GT4 Bronze championship.”

“Qualifying showed that Borja and I are running the same times and that the car is fast,” says Héctor Hernández. “The race pace was spectacular and that is the positive takeaway. We know we have the speed and that the team worked at two hundred percent, but it is a shame that external factors leave us without the points we deserved.”

“It makes us very angry to finish like this because starting second in race two, the podium was within our reach,” declares Borja Hormigos. “In the second leg, the hit forced us to retire. Now it is time to change the mindset immediately; we had to experience the bitter side of racing and now we have to pull together to leave the car perfect.”

“The logistics team is already on its way back to the Autoworks Motorsport facilities. The technical staff will focus all their efforts starting today on evaluating the structural damage and proceeding with the urgent repair of the BMW M4 GT4, with the aim of arriving in full condition for the most important event of the year in front of their fans.

“The second round of the Supercars Endurance season will be held at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE. The event will score points solely for the Spanish Supercars Championship and promises to bring together a high-level grid once again on a circuit with a unique history in Iberian motorsport.”

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina, where he finished only behind another SR-21â„¢ for an ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ front-row lockout, Fortner came back fighting at the next round held at Atlanta’s iconic Michelin Road Raceway, where more podiums were clinched by both drivers.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Going into this weekend, fresh off of a strong result at Gridlife Carolina coming in P2, I had so much confidence to give it my everything one of my all-time favourite tracks: Road Atlanta. To start out the weekend, I was met with some traffic during my flyers, so initially I wasn’t able to show what the true pace was. With this being a two-day, traditional time attack weekend with a limited schedule, the pressure was on to put together a perfect lap. On top of that, we had rain in the forecast for Sunday, potentially limiting us to only 3 dry sessions.”

“Road Atlanta is a very high-speed track, with the car hitting speeds of over 165 mph, putting the braking performance on centre stage. My SR-21â„¢s performed at their best, giving me the confidence to carry as much speed as possible into even the heaviest of braking zones, without a single ounce of hesitation, just full confidence. Ending the day on Saturday, I still never got a truly clean lap catching traffic on a track that is incredibly difficult to pass at, but even with this, I was able to put us into P3 going into Sunday.”

“Come Sunday morning, to my surprise, we had no rain! I knew exactly where I needed to find the time, and I did just that. Battling back and forth up until the last session, I ended the weekend in P2, with Eric Dewitt in P1, also on ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½s! Just like Carolina, this was an ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Streetmod 1-2, and on top of that, in ClubTR, the entire podium was swept by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ equipped cars! I couldn’t be prouder to show represent ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in such a strong showing against such a strong field at one of the most difficult tracks in the world.â€

Dan Tiley and David Pesce run the endurance friction material in their Corvette

Vehicle dynamics engineers, Dan Tiley and David Pesce, currently race their 1991 Chevrolet Corvette under the ‘Eddie Vetter’ team in the US-based ChampCar endurance racing series.

This attainable-yet-demanding series sees 7+ hour races being held across North America each year – putting intense pressure on teams and cars.

With their previous go-to brake pad option being discontinued recently, Tiley and Pesce decided to test out ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ endurance brake pad at the final championship race of the season.

Despite limited testing time over the weekend, the team were delighted with the performance and longevity on offer, eventually winning the overall race and clinching the 2025 National Championship trophy.

You can hear how it all panned out in Tiley’s own words below…

“Our car is a 1991 Chevrolet Corvette, running under the team name ‘Eddie Vetter’. This car is the successor to our previous car, ‘Freddie Mercury’; a 1986 Mercury Capri. This car is raced by myself, Dan Tiley, and teammate David Pesce. David and I are both race car vehicle dynamics simulation engineers, primarily supporting our NASCAR efforts. David works for GM in their racing division, and, ironically, I work for Ford Racing.”

“Eddie Vetter is big, heavy and bleeds American muscle, so it needs all the help it can get in the braking department. We’ve a rival brake pad for years but can no longer get them. After watching Roy Dietsch’s videos highlighting SR-21â„¢ and SR-11â„¢s, we revamped our system solely for the purpose of using those pads. We had to change our calipers in order to accommodate them. The end result was a huge gain for us! We now get excellent modulation (better than the previous pads we used), the pads are easy on the rotors and we had very little pad wear after 12 hours of racing! We are not a professional racing team with a full pit crew, and simply aren’t able to change brake pads mid-race without losing significant time on track.”

“The first seven years of my career with Ford I was a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer working on future products like the Mustang and Lincoln LS. Brake development and brake feel ‘DNA’ was a key part of my job as part of that group, so I like to think that I have some reasonable background in the area of automotive brake feel and performance.

“Our first race with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ pads was the Championship race recently. We knew it was a risk going to the Nationals with an untested brake system, AND test day was cancelled due to weather, but it paid off in spades! We won the overall race, and ultimately the 2025 National Championship on ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ brake pads!”

“The previous pad manufacturer has left a huge hole in the endurance racing market with the lack of their components, which were unanimously accepted as the gold standard for performance and wear. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has set a new bar with their SR series of brake pads!

“Thanks again for producing a great product that we’ve so dearly needed!â€
