Application Process for the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Public Health Practice

Fall Admission Deadline

  • Application window opens: January 1
  • Deadline to apply: March 1
  • Admission decisions released by: April 1

Spring Admission Deadline

  • Application window opens: September 1
  • Deadline to apply: November 1
  • Admission decisions released by: December 1

MPH Program Application Procedure

Applicants to the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Public Health Practice program and the  Graduate Certificate in Public Health program must complete the University of Alaska  Anchorage (乐播传媒) graduate application. Please contact the 乐播传媒 Graduate Public Health  Programs office with any questions regarding the application process or admission  requirements. 

MPH Program Application Materials

  1. Submit an essay in response to the following prompt: Identify a major public health challenge in your community, describe its extent, and discuss one to two evidence-based solutions to address this challenge. Essays must be no more than 2 double-spaced pages long, be typed using 11 or 12-point font, and include citations and references. The list of references does not count in the page limitations.
  2. Provide a current resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
  3. Submit a personal statement explaining how and why obtaining the MPH in Public Health Practice would contribute to the student's career goals. The personal statement must be no more than 2 double-spaced pages long and typed using 11 or 12-point font.
  4. Official transcripts from all institutions of higher learning.
  5. It is strongly recommended that applicants complete an introductory or elementary statistics course within the past five years. Most courses with 鈥渟tatistics鈥� in the title are acceptable. 乐播传媒 courses that satisfy this requirement include:鈥�,鈥�,鈥�,鈥�, or鈥�.

Graduate Certificate  Program Application Materials

  1. Provide a current resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
  2. Submit a personal statement explaining how and why obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Public Health would contribute to the applicant's career goals. The personal statement must be no more than 2 double-spaced pages long and typed using 11 or 12-point font.
  3. Official transcripts from all institutions of higher learning.
