University Marketing and Communications

 

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s Department of Marketing and Communications (UMAC) develops strategies to ensure institutional brand integrity, maintains standards and creates content and collateral in support of university priorities. The team specializes in responding to media inquiries, supporting the Office of the Chancellor with newsletters and crisis communications, creating materials for development officers and alumni relations initiatives, issuing press releases and maintaining a Media Room with images and information resources for reporters, publishing online and print news-feature publications serving both the internal and external audiences at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and across Alaska. In short, this is your journey and UMAC is here to help share the story of the impact that you make in the community.

Alumni and Community Engagement

 

The Office of Alumni and Community Engagement works in partnership with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Alumni Association to foster lifelong connections between alumni and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Alumni activities include the Alumni of Distinction Celebration, Winterfest, Homecoming, and chapter/affinity group events. Membership in the association is open, and free, to all alumni. Chapters are organized by academics, special interests and geographic locations. The association encourages students to stop by the Alumni Center to find out about student-alumni events and to foster connections with alumni in your career field. Institutional Engagement and Events

 

Numerous academic ceremonies and community celebrations mark life on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. These institutional events welcome our students, staff and faculty, celebrate graduates and engage the Anchorage community while providing opportunities to highlight our talent and achievements. Events serve as the front porch of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, opening our doors for all to learn and explore. University Advancement is proud to lead many of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s crowning occasions, including commencement, the graduate degree hooding ceremony, convocation, building groundbreakings and milestones, grand openings and more.
